Is a visa required for Pakistanis to travel to Qatar?

Indeed, they do. Qatar now grants Pakistani tourists a visa on arrival for stays up to 60 days in the country.

Qatar Visa for Pakistani Residents, its Requirement and Applying Process

The types of Qatar visas available to Pakistanis

  • Visa On arrival

On arrival, Pakistanis can obtain a Qatar visa for 30 days, which can be extended for another 30 days.

Pakistani citizens can submit an application at the immigration counter upon arrival, and a visa stamp will be placed on their passports.

  • Family visit visa

In Qatar, expatriates are permitted to bring their immediate families for a short-term visit. The visa eligibility for expatriate relatives has recently been expanded.

  • Business visa

A business visa is available to Pakistani citizens traveling to Qatar for business purposes. These types of visas are usually arranged by the applicant’s company or agency.

  • Student visa

Requirement of Qatar visa for Pakistanis

To apply for a Qatari visa, Pakistani passport holders must meet the following requirements:

  • Pakistani passport: Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months.
  • Passport copies: Two copies of the first page of the passport.
  • Passport-size photos: Two colored passport-size photos of the applicant.
  • Proof of hotel reservation/accommodation: Documents proving hotel reservations or accommodations in Qatar.
  • Onward and return confirmed ticket: Proof of confirmed tickets for onward and return travel.

  • Cover letter: The cover letter is handwritten and duly signed and addressed to the Embassy of Qatar. Provide information about the place of accommodation, the purpose of the trip, and the dates and cities of travel in the letter. If the applicant is a minor, their guardian must sign the letter

Visa on arrival

Qatar visa on arrival requires the following requirements:
  • Passport must be valid for at least 6 months
  • Return ticket must be confirmed

  • In order to travel directly to Pakistan, travellers must present a proof of polio vaccination
  • Insurance policy offered by a company registered with Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health
  • Additionally, Pakistani citizens may need the following documents:
    • Qatar visas are issued on arrival with proof of funds or a credit card. Maintain a minimum balance of QAR 5,000 (PKR 392,077) on your International Debit/Credit Card
    • For proof that the balance is equals to QAR 5,000 (PKR 392,077), a bank statement from the previous three months may be required.

Family visit visa

When applying for a family visit visa for your immediate family (wife and children), you will have to provide the following documents:

Application Process for Qatar Visa for Pakistanis

Pakistani passport holders can apply for a Qatar visa as follows:

  • Complete the official Qatar visa application form online
  • The Qatar Visa Application Form should be downloaded and printed, and it should be signed personally
  • Please submit the completed form along with the above-mentioned documents at the nearest Qatari Embassy
  • Applicants can track their applications online at the Ministry of Interior Qatar website once they have submitted them

After the visa process is completed, the applicant can pick up their passport. Approval of a visa usually takes seven to ten working days.
