Is a visa required for Pakistanis to travel to Qatar?
Indeed, they do. Qatar now grants Pakistani tourists a visa on arrival for stays up to 60 days in the country.
Qatar also offers other visas that you can get if you plan to travel for more than 60 days or if you have other travel purposes.

Qatar Visa for Pakistani Residents, its Requirement and Applying Process
The types of Qatar visas available to Pakistanis
- Visa On arrival
On arrival, Pakistanis can obtain a Qatar visa for 30 days, which can be extended for another 30 days.
Pakistani citizens can submit an application at the immigration counter upon arrival, and a visa stamp will be placed on their passports.
- Family visit visa
In Qatar, expatriates are permitted to bring their immediate families for a short-term visit. The visa eligibility for expatriate relatives has recently been expanded.
- Business visa
A business visa is available to Pakistani citizens traveling to Qatar for business purposes. These types of visas are usually arranged by the applicant’s company or agency.
It is valid for an initial period of 30 days and is extendable for an additional period of 60 days.
- Student visa
Qatari universities are willing to issue student visas to Pakistani citizens. Visas, however, are issued based on the applicant’s residence permit.
- Employment visa
Qatar employment visas are available to Pakistani citizens seeking employment in Qatar. In order to qualify, the applicant must have worked for at least two years at the company, and the employer must sponsor the visa.
Requirement of Qatar visa for Pakistanis
To apply for a Qatari visa, Pakistani passport holders must meet the following requirements:
- Pakistani passport: Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months.
- Passport copies: Two copies of the first page of the passport.
- Passport-size photos: Two colored passport-size photos of the applicant.
- Proof of hotel reservation/accommodation: Documents proving hotel reservations or accommodations in Qatar.
- Onward and return confirmed ticket: Proof of confirmed tickets for onward and return travel.
- Detailed itinerary: The detailed itinerary, including the applicant’s name, for the planned duration of stay.
- Bank statements:Applicants must submit scanned copies of their bank statements from the past three months, indicating they are the account holder.
- Cover letter: The cover letter is handwritten and duly signed and addressed to the Embassy of Qatar. Provide information about the place of accommodation, the purpose of the trip, and the dates and cities of travel in the letter. If the applicant is a minor, their guardian must sign the letter
Qatar visa applications may require additional documents, depending on the type of the Visa.
Visa on arrival

- Qatar visas are issued on arrival with proof of funds or a credit card. Maintain a minimum balance of QAR 5,000 (PKR 392,077) on your International Debit/Credit Card

Family visit visa
When applying for a family visit visa for your immediate family (wife and children), you will have to provide the following documents:
- Qatar ID copy for the applicant

- Employer’s letter citing salary and profession without objection
- Work contract
- Photocopy of the company card

In Qatar, the minimum salary requirement for applying for a family visit visa for children and spouses is QAR 5,000 (PKR 392,077).
The following documents are required for newborns:
- Original passport of the child
- Original birth certificate

A family visit visa can only be granted to married expatriates in Qatar to sponsor other relatives. You will need the following documents if you are applying for a family visit visa for other relatives:

Employment visa
To apply for a Qatar employment visa, you will need the following documents:
- The visa application form (Form V1) must be submitted by applicants
- A copy of the applicant’s Pakistani passport with a 6-month validity period is required
- Proof of Qatari residence, such as an ID or permit
- Originals and photocopies of educational qualifications
- Employer’s letter
- The applicant must submit an original and photocopy of the employment contract provided by the company, firm, or organization
Application Process for Qatar Visa for Pakistanis
Pakistani passport holders can apply for a Qatar visa as follows:
- Complete the official Qatar visa application form online
- The Qatar Visa Application Form should be downloaded and printed, and it should be signed personally
- Please submit the completed form along with the above-mentioned documents at the nearest Qatari Embassy
- Applicants can track their applications online at the Ministry of Interior Qatar website once they have submitted them
After the visa process is completed, the applicant can pick up their passport. Approval of a visa usually takes seven to ten working days.
